Price Diet

This is a confession. I love special offers and price discounts on great brands. My shopping experience going to the supermarket, on getting to the shop I opened the freezer section and there was something  new sitting next to my usual drink. Oooops...they offered a different price! Making a price comparison,  my eyes focused on the price ending 0.99cent  and at this particular moment I discovered a shift in my thinking. At this moment I referenced  to the price of the drink I normally buy - which didn't change. It was still the same price, what changed was how I thought about the price compared with the new offering. For some reason the appearance of 0.99cent price ending made me feel much better about my purchase. I carefully grabbed a pack of the drink and walked to the pay point as if I had saved!

I have recently realized that this is a behavioural mistake! It's called charm pricing (Psychological Pricing) that uses customer's emotional responses to boost sales. If you have ever walked into the store and you discovered you've spent  all you had in your wallet, then you have just been manipulated...It is a hard habit to break! Don't let anyone set the price that determines if you are buying or not.

                                                       Happy Pricing!!!

One + One = 3

Here is a popular saying that "two heads are better than one", which made me realize that it is vital to embrace each other in order to achieve a common goal whether it is in our personal or professional lives, as we can do little alone. The great thing about working together is that we will  always have others on  our side.
                             .

Using my personal experience of working as a team under a Business Innovation Programme, Teamwork was part of the Skills for Success module. Although, I have had many experiences in various capacity as a team player having to work with people with different cultural backgrounds, this programme offered a whole new experience. At the start of the programme, we were all assigned group and each team was required to develop a business idea, and to pitched this to a panel called Dragon's Den.

As a team we adopted the Belbin's model of team building where each member was assigned with a responsibility based on individual experiences and capabilities.

What I learnt during the teamwork was the synergy that we were able to accomplish, despite the diverse views, experiences and multicultural composition of the team members. I had a brilliant experience and a great time contributing to the successful completion of the project and learning from the group work.

People In Our Lives

Rolling back to the memory of the heart, sometimes we feel bitter or happy about the people we have encountered  relationships with. It is obvious that these experiences awaken us to a new reality of life. whether positive or negative.

Having a reflection on the past, I believe it is amazing to have met all these wonderful people in my life, which was never a coincidence but destined. A big thank you to those who accepted us - who have given love, friendships, support, motivation and inspiration, and to those who couldn't accommodate our inadequacies - which  might seem like a defeat but it has actually made us stronger, as they have challenged and influenced our lives, which has made us a better person.

Looking at my strength as a passionate, empathetic, honest, hardworking, fun loving,  optimistic, stylish and ambitious, I hope to continue to impact positively in people's lives, and wave a goodbye to toxic emotions, envy, resentments and regrets.

My gratitude to my creator, my loving mother, "a jewel" who died over 3 decades ago, my loving father who believe so much in me and showered me lots of love, my husband for his undying love and support, my children, the best children in the world, my brother and sisters, friends,  family, colleagues, neighbours, teachers, customers, employers, doctors, midwives, and my country.

 The list is just endless...
